emotional intimacy issues are ADHD culture cause so many of us associate it with having to exhaust ourselves by masking our symptoms. a lot of ADHD kids grow up only experiencing love and care that is conditional on our ability to appear non-ADHD (“dad look at my drawing!” “why are you drawing when you haven’t done [x exhausting menial task we have forgotten about]”) (“hey Mom i need money for lunch this week” “you’re getting a D in English, why should i give you lunch money??”).

emotional intimacy is seen as something to be earned through strife and grovelled for rather than something given freely by people who just simply like us, so a lot of the time it’s easier to just stay lonely.
